It is best for heavy days. Very firm for activities like pilates. A bit difficult to remove due to round shape.

When my Super Jennie grew some black spots at the holes, I looked for a replacement. The Period Co didnt bring in Super Jennie anymore so I had to get an alternative. Merula cup looked good as I think I have a kinda low cervix. On days that I get it to open and position well, it works like a charm collecting everything with zero leakage. However, getting it right is still a hit and miss for me after 2 periods. sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't and it manages to completely miss my cervix & leaks as if i'm not wearing a cup at all. :/ So... Still trying to make it work, but its promising.
I used to use the divacup (both models, before and after having a kid) but they used to leak. But with the Merula it's leak free! I love how I can get it out easily just by hooking a finger around the handle.
The capacity really big. When heavy flow, i can see the cup full. Only thing is when insert, it is hard to open.
I'm liking it a lot so far!! 3 periods now. I actually really don't feel once it's inside. I think the silicone is a lot softer than the other one I was using (Moon Cup), so the Merula Cup has been such a comfortable use for me! I have leaked a few times but this was not because of fit or poor suction, etc. It's a similar case when I used other cups because my flow is exceptionally heavy during the first 2 days when I should be emptying it a bit more frequently. Still, the Merula Cup is holding more than the Moon Cup I was previously using. Another thing too, the loops/rungs are brilliant! As compared to stems, like most of the other typical menstrual cups on the market are designed to have. Cos then you only need to use 1 finger to pull on the loop/rung instead of pinching on a stem (but not before having to send 2 fingers up there searching for the stem first!) - this rung design was such a delight to me really. The only downside I experienced was in my first use when I was still figuring out the best fold for insertion. Because of its shape (ie., round and wider in the middle), it hurt in during my period of first using the Merula Cup. I've since figured out the best fold and position for me and I've had no such problems using it in my subsequent periods.
